a stampede has absolutely nothing to do with religion, it is just a phenomenon that sometimes unfortunately occurs at places where lots of people gather together (stadium, parades, events...)... dont accuse religious people to be "mental ill", if you stick in a crowd and the people panic, there is very little to do against it...

With these crushes and stampedes, people always try to find these spurious reasons -- false reports of a bomb, coconut milk, religion, consumer greed, panic -- but the simple truth is there are just too many people on too small a space. People get crushed against walls or barricades and they suffocate. The ONLY solution is effective crowd control -- telling people where they need to go, because they have no way of knowing otherwise.
