The Clinic of the Working Poor

Any day at dawn, people walk to Clinica Romero and wait for its doors to open. They know that within its walls they can find high-quality doctors and a humane treatment. For the working poor who don´t have money to buy healthcare this clinic is a temple of safety and comfort. In the heart of the Pico-Union area of downtown Los Angeles there is a home where you can go when you are in pain.

Why isn't this clinic multiracial? Why are there only one type of people. Are theses people legal?

It is multiracial, although mainly people from various Latin-American countries (especially the Salvadorian community, the most prevalent in the Pico Union area of Downtown L.A.) are their patrons. Anyone can go. Legal documents are not a requirement. Income is. Thanks for writing KMCl11, jordi

And then I suggest you to read this history comic-book `la interminable conquista de mexico´(the neverending Mexican conquest), by Rius (Grijalbo), where you will learn that the country is today ruled mostly by foreign capital (US and England) that treats that soverign country as a colony or like Puerto Rico, while keeping an oligarquy in power that keeps most of the population squeezed into poverty.

I just came back from a trip to Mexico, avoiding the US-infested spots and going to the real thing. I recommend you do the same. Go to the History Museum in Ciudad de Mexico at the Chapultepec castle where you will learn, just as I did, the history of abuses that the country has gone through: the Spaniards, the French, the US...

The Mexican't govt. is crooked, the cops are thieves and murders, you want to make a difference do it with your own money! You wouldn't last a week or two at the most. Illegal is that, Illegal. You should be thrown in jail for spending tax payers monies on illegals! THe Cali, local govt. and indigent care facilities fired a doctor because he saw Americans being left out while monies earmarked for the American indigents was being sliced out for the ILLEGALS! DO not confuse the fact of Iraq and these poor bastards that could not make it in their own great country, they found out through dumbasses like you that there is a free handout, come on over and "we" will care for you. Look "WE" is not my taxes but your assumptions are that the funds are theirs if they can get here. Take your happy ass over to the great country of Mexico and make a difference if you dare. Take you monies that you have earned, spend it on those people over there.
