In which I describe some of the differences I noticed between the practice of religion between the church where I stayed and the church I attend back home.
I have no clue where you stayed -- I believe there is a difference in religion and faith. I'm of Christian faith, attend an independent Christian church. Like Rich said below, many forms and styles for sure.
@Jinxie228 A small dormitory town in San Diego- I'm sure there are many traits here which I listed which are specific to the region/church/sect which my hosts belonged to; there are many different churches in Britain, and I can't claim to have visited all of those nor have my opinion represent them all.
Wow, I could say so much, but I'll respect your desire not to get into the less than academic "debates" on YouTube -I totally understand. I will say that religion in America takes on many forms in terms of style, fervor and political influence. There's definitely a constant give and take against the constitutional guarantee that the state will not make any law "respecting an establishment of religion."
@WorldAccordingtoRich I appreciate your cooperation; as I say, I see so many of these debates which ultimately meet their demise as pointless mudslinging that I do not believe that anything other than a face to face conversation (and even that can fail miserably) among friends is a worthwhile method.
I guess there must be different interpretations of the phrase "respecting an establishment of religion".
