This is a two cylinder Lego Pneumatic Engine (LPE) I put together as I had leftover technic beams and pneumatic components after building other projects. The engine provides a good array of power, I would just perfer it run smooth. For now the only item the engine powers is a 9V Technic motor to act as a generator for a lamp. I intend on building the 3-speed manual transmission from nxtprograms.com and using this to power it instead of an nxt motor. I make use of an Iwata Sprint Jet air compressor that is used for airbrushes. I can get up to 125 psi with it but the engine will run at 60 psi max as it uses the air.

The building instructions for this engine plus several other engine variants including a 6-cylinder radial engine can be found here: http://www.fifth-r.com/cssoh1/build.htm

  • where did you get that orange cicle pice please reaspond by pm

  • @Dolmori nooo i dont think so nitrogen is like gas so probably it will be nitrogen stations, air is un predictable it will expand radically in heat and diminish in cold so the tank wold be useless but not nitrogen even some cars like the nissan gtr (i think) use helium in its tires instead of oxygen because it expands radically

  • smart

  • @justinsbasictuts: do you know that air cars exist at this moment? Theyre still working on it and thecars havent been sold to the public yet but air stations will soon replace gas stations!

  • @xXChadwolfXx All my friends say legos are useless kid toys. Im showing them this.

  • Converts electricity to... electricity!!! It's amazing what you can do with pneumatics these days.

  • good zooming ahhhhhh....:D

  • @Rakaloe It's same principle as steam engine. It's a piston and it get's pushed forward and back by steam same goes for air powered engines. However you still need an engine powered by fuel to compress the air while the car drive.

  • hmmm, maybe we can build cars that have air as their power source!

  • the link directs me to some kinda ad site i really want the building instructions what do i do?
