My grandpa died a year ago today. This song was in his memorial video. His named happened to be Jimmy Brown. Only fitting that this should be his song.

I recall my father listening to this when I was a kid. However now that I'm in my 40's, I have a new appreciation for this. Thanks for posting.

:D Okay I admit found this song on a record (Vinyl) unfortunatley I could not get the record player in our new powerstrip. Otherwise I would enjoy it classical in the living room. ;)

Yes, thanks, I guess one cannot always believe what is written on some sites, this site presenting us Edith Piaf's bio along with "The Three Bells". In her version which I heard on that site she sang the words "Little Jimmy Brown" and used the same words The Browns used throughout her version of the song. And, . . the site had her born in 1946, most likely her death date instead. Her song was quite good, very "French" sounding in their soulful French stylistics. Again, thank you.

Edith Piaf is much older....she was born December 19, 1915 just after WWI....not WWII. She died in 1963. So I'm pretty sure Edith's came first, if the Brown's Version was in the 1950's. Also, she does not use Little Jimmy Brown in the song....the name is Jean Francois Nicot.
