@GDLutz I am one of the judges this year. Best of luck to you!

@pleasantcrew I go to Cedar Ridge H.S. and am in the woodworking program. We have a great shop, and a great teacher. I have submitted my work to the 2011 AWFS competition and hope to be accepted!!!

Wow. Outstanding!
I wish my wood working class in high school went that advanced. Great Job!

some of the work here is fantastic.
the stand-out entrants for me were the artists table ( loving the brush legs ) , the table with which carved fish held the glass top in place, and the wobbly clock which wouldnt look out of place in alice's wonderland.
i also have to say that the finishes on these projects are outstanding. shiny shiny.
im taking a small course in car servicing soon, but after seeing this, i think i may go and do a woodworking course in a college nearby.
thanks 4 vid marc.

It is great to see young people learning a SKILL. Not textbook smarts, bt something you have to train, practice, learn the feel of the wood, the tools, etc. Skills are slowly being lost in favor of the complacency to allow others to do the 'work'. It is now more important to be able to talk on a cell phone than to have the skill to build something?!?!?! "When you build a machine to do the work of a man, you take something from that man!"
