    Soap was never the same without him. Though we all loved him in this show as well, Soap seemed to never recover without him. As they continued to stir the pot in social circles they lost the biggest attraction in Benson. I continued to watch Soap but gradually lost interest when the storyline became to outragious to believe and without Benson's humor, never stood a chance to survive.

    ...he was also known for his role as "Groucho Marx" in "Minnie's Boys" on Broadway.....and was replaced in season two by Rene Auberjonois [as "Clayton Endicott III"].
