"Little Sister", performed by Ruthie & the Wranglers with Billy Coulter (wwwbillycoulter.com & www.ruthieandthewranglers.com) in concert at the Institute of Musical Traditions (www.imtfolk.org), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA on October 26, 2011.
Ruthie & the Wranglers play rockin' American Roots music (also known as FUN!) and are based in Takoma Park, MD. From original Americana Country to rousing Surf instrumentals, their clever lyrics, high energy and spritely hillbilly harmonies set them apart from the rest. Their songwriting skills were penned by Billboard Magazine as "...nothing short of brilliant."
The band has just released their sixth CD, Ruthie and the Wranglers LIVE at Goose Creek, recorded live at the Franklin Park Arts Center in Purcellville, Virginia.
Washington D.C.singer/songwriter Billy Coulter's distinctive style blurs the line between Roots Rock and Power Pop. Drawing on influences as varied as Bob Dylan to Squeeze he's developed an organic sound that seems familiar but is definitely new.
