i dont really think so,
i know both slipknot and mushroomhead both exetremely well when it comes to the music,
slipknot has more of an attack in their songs, as well as very peaceful ones, slipknot does not however double bass alot, infact, mushroomhead double basses more then slipknot does, its just that in mushroomhead they dont amplify the drums as much as in slipknot on the recorded tracks, some songs are in drop A but the majority are in drop B,
i can agree with coreys screaming, bad voice,

Mushroomhead, in my opinion, focuses much much less on guitar, a decent amount on drums, and a lot more on singing.
Whereas Slipknot is guitar and drums more than like, how mushroomhead tends to make their songs.

slipknot is also alot more agressive,
kinda a heavier twist to their music,
where as mushroomhead,
its almost like,
one of the most pure forms of metal,
thats what my ears tell me,

They are balanced in everything imo. Maybe you think so because they're much different than other bands. But look at it :
Hard riffs (0 solos)
Everytime Different Drums
2 types of vocals
Crazy bass
SAMPLES
Keyboard that works like in Faith No More
But you are right with one... they are singing good - their texts are awasome.
I dunno what part of their brain they use to write them but im amazed :)
