Its been 3 years since Michelle Kwan left competitive skating. This World Title performance certainly exhibits the passion, artistry, and consistency lacking in today's skaters. Perhaps its the new scoring system but I believe today's skaters focus exclusively on the number of triple/triple combinations they can pack into a 4 minute program.

towards the end, she didnt have to concentrate. She was in the

"freaking ZONE!". Such passion...the whole place could feel it..

Exactly... Olympic gold doesn't make you a great skater. There are numerous examples of Olympic gold medalists who were not the best skaters (ie. Sarah Hughes, Alexei Urmanov).

I actually think that they were wrong to say she was the "best skater never to win an olympic gold."  I think she's the best skater ever period.

These commentators are incredibly kind (and accurate) about Michelle.

And don't forget teh overuse of the catch foot/ bielmann spin. Todays programs all look the same and they are getting very boring to watch.
