The first show of 1979 and the first ever live performances of Hot Dog and In The Evening, this show is very good. Robert is a little hoarse and seems almost shy but good nonetheless, and except for a messed up solo in Misty Mountain Hop, Page's playing is fluid, fast, and wonderful! Bonham and Jones, as usual, sound fine. A curious set list that is very refreshing and the angry solo in Achilles Last Stand is a highlight. Problems with a power generation delayed the show. Band's lightning rig was too big for venue and a generation had blowed up.

It rocked my world to see my favorite rock and roll band in a small theatre, with maybe 1500 seats or so. I sat at the upper balcony and just screamed JIMMY PAGE, JIMMY PAGE, JIMMY PAGE at the top of my lungs during the opening number.
Before the show, me and my friends drank beer with Zep fans from all over the world in the pub opposite the theatre. We were all in awe and we could hardly believe that we were actually going to see The Greatest Rock Band In The World in a theatre instead of an arena or stadium.
Yeah, it was great! The lasers during Jimmy´s Dazed and Confused-based guitar solo! The fast numbers like Celebration Day! Robert´s voice! The thundering riffs in Black Dog! Oh My God!!!
For the encore I managed to sneak out from the balcony and on to the floor. Stood there, pretty close to the band, still screaming and shouting of course, but now jumping up and down with fists in the air and sweat running down my body.
ROCK AND ROLL 29 YEARS AGO. I will never forget it.

This was my third LZ gig. They were late due to technical problems with the power. They played as loud as ever. And they were great as expected.

I was there too.....its my ´79 poster.

I will never forget the 2 shows in juli 1979, the first night, the were aprox 2 houers behind, becuce of the pa.system went down, at that time it was one of the biggst pa ever to be seen on a Danish stage,so the had to come up whit a mobil generator to help fix it. the play for abaut for 2½ hours.no suport band and only ½ light on that night. It was much better the nexst day. The play here in Copenhagen because the had to rehelse for the 2 upcomming shows in England.

I remember the press said that led Zeppelin was plyning wery to laud,Falkoner Center a venue whit ca 2500 all sited it was not the nekst week the were playning outdoor.but for me it was great, and it was my 6 and 7 concert whit Led Zeppelin all here in Copenhagen.

  • @Conneyfogle

i mean, there is a guitar work of mr page called embryo n2

a pretty experimental one and quite excentric

i wonder if this solo is the one

  • @YorkeKin

OK. Don't know embryo n2 (but would love to!!)

I listened to this carefully twice.

IMO it's the solo for Dazed and Confused.

I've heard many versions of the song and I'm 99.percent positive.

    hope that's helpful.

  • you should know that everything he plays is improvised. if you do know, well you are a person who likes clean and pretty pop music.

  • I'm bow--led over.

    so deliciously weird.

Decided I now believe in String Theory!!!

    (good ETVC category btw).

WOW. Fantastico sono dazed e confusa!

Page played this song live throughout the years. If you listen to the tone you can hear a sub-octavider type tone to his sound. This is something he used in the later tours of Led Zeppelin.

  • Page was way ahead of his peers for the time is my feeling

  • If somebody burgled his house Jimmy would fight back using the bow considering he's experienced

  • @TheWd3829 This is a Warm up concert for Knebworth.

Also D&C Was Dropped in '77 but they kept the Bow solo as a standalone piece and yes its pretty much what you would hear in D&C

  • I've got "The Song Remains the Same" live CD and I swear that this is a solo piece that Jimmy did on DAZED AND CONFUSED. It was actually performed in 1973

  • @Conneyfogle Embryo No. 2 was originally called "Domino" and first debuted LIVE on VH1 back in 1999 at some benefit concert. Domino/Embryo No. 2 is an instrumental piece by Jimmy Page. It was also the introduction, that night, to Jimmy jamming with the Black Crowes and the last time Jimmy jammed with Michael Lee. So, it was after Zeppelin anyway.

  • Is he playing for an audience of five or is the entire audience just sitting there, bored and stupid?

  • Is this from the Copenhagen warm-ups?

  • @YorkeKin embryo2 is from it might get loud and was made in 2009 this was 30 years earlier..

  • Jimmy played in so many places with his damn les paul for years
