This was in October 2008. Although my grandmother emigrated from Kesab to the U.S., many of her relatives did not. My grandmother's sister was celebrating her 90th birthday, and although my grandmother couldn't make the trip, I went with my dad to visit.

If anyone from Kesab has any videos, especially of folk songs in Kesabsi (not sure how to spell that correctly), the dialect of Armenian spoken in Kesab, please let me know and upload them!

Also, this is one of my first attempts at making at using editing software and posting a video on youtube, so I'm sorry if it seems quite amateurish :p Any tips on how to improve would be appreciated!

  • My father used to sing this song at 55 seconds! Haygagan music is the best!

  • @Varangian1915 that's awesome :) I regret so much that I didn't record more of the songs that I heard that night. Especially now that my grandmother has died, and I treasure every cultural link I have to her past.
