This Aeolian style D Orchestrelle was first sold in the spring of 1900. The 58-note player instrument is, in reality, a player reed organ. It is not of the class of the higher quality, and much larger, Solo Orchestrelle units which used pressure on the reeds rather than vacuum as in this style D.
A fun feature of these early player instruments are the ragtime/cake walk/ march rolls. Here is music from around 1899 on Aeolian Grand roll 40978
"Down South; American Sketch."
I just acquired an Aeolian player organ. I've been told that it is either a 1250 model or an early 1500. I am planning on rebuilding it completely. Right now it does not play because the bellows are shot in it. I believe all the parts are there. I am needing to find somebody who has 46 note rolls. No rolls came with the organ. It was given to me.

@ChucklesKeys U Toob is apparently not going to allow me to enter a URL. Stupid U TUB idiots.
Anyway, do a search for Ed Gaida and you will see the various rolls he has available.

Worth noting that the composer, William Middleton probably didn't include a "dog bark solo" in his original manuscript for this amusing opus... Lol.

@Tubemeister77 Always aim to please. Too bad I do not have a roll of Whistler and His Dog. It could be very authentic with little effort.
