News reporting was professional back then, matter of fact and serious. Nothing like the fluff and slanted reporters of today. I am impressed by the people who ran out and risked their lives to save others who had been shot, no we cant even get the police to do that. Different time and much better class of citizens.

Id never heard of Charles Whitman till now, watching Natural Born Killers. Ive always had a fascination with serial killers. Charles Manson being my top favorite next to Ted Bundy. From experience I do know that mental illness can drive a person mad. My hubbys father was discharged from Airforce due to an underlying illness that couldnt be detected, which is why he gained a lot of weight. Years later it was determined there was a brain tumor. In the last few years of his life, he turned MEAN.

I think that was from return fire. Several officers were returning fire from below. You can hear a difference in gunshots around 2:18. I really do not mean any disrespect here, but this guy was a very good shot.

If they banned assault rifles back then he could...oh it was bolt action? A skiled shooter can make almost any gun just as deadly? Unarmed targets pose no threat to shooters so it doesn't matter the weapon they use?
