If you listen to Anthology you will hear John discussing adjusting his capo. As there are two acoustic guitars, it is interesting that one is played using a capo. Although I never tried using a capo for this, I will try and see if it approximates the recorded version more closely.

@gatorsgotyourgranny For the verse, keep the high E covered at the 3rd fret for these chords: G D F G C F C, then start over again. Second time through, it's G D F G C F C D. Do the whole thing over again, but when it comes to the chorus, walk down from that D all the way to G for the chorus. The chorus is G C D twice through. The high E stays covered at the 3rd fret on most of the chords through the song.
