Go to http://github.com/der-On/XPlane2Blender and click on "Downloads" to get the latest Xplane2Blender script. (3.10 Final).

For the ERJ or the Mooney, go to www.x-plane.org and click on "Store"

To download Blender for FREE, go to www.blender.org
To get X-Plane (and PlaneMaker) for FREE, go to www.x-plane.com. (The sim operates in demo mode, but PlaneMaker is fully functional.)

Yes, I'm back to 720p. Honestly, I don't see such a great quality advantage using 1080i, and it's just 4x more work to export and publish. I'll probably stick with 720p for the time being... at least until ScreenFlow supports direct 1080p uploads to YouTube.

  • Is there a version of this for Windows 7

    I took the time too look at the install command and it listed that it was not for win 7, at least I think, I just skimmed it

  • @234576739 Yes, it should work for Windows 7, but it requires the latest version of Python. Please take the time to read the script notes, and make sure you have the right version of the script for the appropriate version of Blender. (Script v3.10 is for Blender 2.49, Script v3.20 is vor Blender 2.5+.)

  • @danklaue And a flight license, that is (;

  • @danklaue That's a nice idea right there. But the nearest flight school probably is half an hpur driving from my house, but I'm too young for a license, so I'm not sure about that. I'll see what I can find, though. I also read that you can start training for a license at any age, so I think I qualify :) I will try to find a mentor, I'm pretty qctive on some local flight related forums. By the way,usually I'm not so annoying, hope I'm not annoying you with all the questions! (;

  • @Stickman698 I'd probably go find a local flying school, hang out at their cafeteria, try getting to know some of the people, ask about their flying program, take home some pamphlets, see what it would take to get a license, hope that you could find someone patient enough to answer some questions, ask if you can get a tour of a plane, and come back for more next time. If you're young, you might find someone who will take you under their wing a bit, and mentor you, if you're not too annoying. :)

  • @danklaue Well, I also love planes. Ever since I was 3 years old, I asked anyone I knew about planes.

    About the x-plane(.)org forums, I already am a member, and I suppose you are familiar with some of my work. I'm Hornet-Hurricane there.

    About research, well, the best thing I could do is get checklists for a 747... I suppose that's not good but I don't do this full time, I have school :(

    By the way, how do I get to pilots? I mean, is there anything special? Or do I google "pilots"?

    ~Thanks.

  • @Stickman698 You have to love it, yeah. I've been doing model airplanes since I was 7. I find PlaneMaker and Blender to be a realization of my life-long quest to make awesome planes. I'd definitely say I have a love for it.

    Insights? Research, research research! Try to talk to pilots, try to get connected to people who maintain these planes, download manuals about instruments in the cockpit, join the X-Plane (dot) org forums, to discuss topics of interest with others, and just be dedicated.

  • @danklaue You truly have love to it, do you?

    Well, I'll try to delve deeper into this topic later, right now I'm not even finished with the livery... By the way, can you share some insights about gathering information about systems(and how they integrate those into the cockpit)? I really want to go 'hardcore' about my current work.

  • @Stickman698 It's all a bit complex... but I find it easier than learning programming. I guess I'm a more visual kind of guy.

    I think it's not JUST the complexity that gets to people... there's a ton of creativity, problem-solving, artistry, etc. involved, so once you get over the complexity aspect, you still have lots of ground to cover to actually achieve the vision you have.

  • That's pretty complex... Or is it just me watching those awesome tutorials while not being 100% focused?
