They have different races--shorter ones--for less money, and you're not obligated to raise it all (meaning you can back out at a certain date), but I don't know--it's not the same. I just love bicycling, and figured I could do this to help out some people...the most I could get was like 500 dollars. I e-mailed my college, but they didn't respond...:/

Yeah, the fundraising's a bigger challenge than the ride, really. I wish they could find more ways to get people involved who want to participate, but can't raise all that cash...
