Om Mani Padme Hum - Tibetan Incantation - Alternate Extended Version

The Powers of the Six Syllables

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The six syllables perfect the Six Paramitas of the Bodhisattvas.
Gen Rinpoche, in his commentary on the Meaning of said:

"The mantra Om Mani Pädme Hum is easy to say yet quite powerful,
because it contains the essence of the entire teaching. When you say
the first syllable "Om" it is blessed to help you achieve perfection in the
practice of generosity, "Ma" helps perfect the practice of pure ethics,
and "Ni" helps achieve perfection in the practice of tolerance and
patience. "Päd", the fourth syllable, helps to achieve perfection of perseverance, "Me" helps achieve perfection in the practice of concentration, and the final sixth syllable "Hum" helps achieve perfection in the practice of wisdom.

So in this way recitation of the mantra helps achieve perfection in the six practices from generosity to wisdom. The path of these six perfections is the path walked by all the Buddhas of the three times. What could then be more meaningful than to say the mantra and accomplish the six perfections?"

The six syllables purify the six realms of existence in suffering.

  • Thank you very much for your comments @azosayuri, really appreciate it my friend ~

  • @TheInfamousMaximu ……the east is foreigner to the west and in turn they are foreigner to the south as they too in turn a foreigner to the north and them in turn to the east.

There is no foreigner in the teaching of the Buddhas; you are who you are as I am whom I am. The only differences are the path that each one of us chooses for ourselves that makes us difference other than our looks, which is nothing more than a vehicle.

  • Sorry you heard that saying about “foreigner”, those that looks upon others as such are looked upon as such themselves. Remember that Siddhārtha Gautama Buddha was a foreigner to all other path of the world except his native land in India.......... ~

  • @ellisoninwonderland ..tend to agree and I could be wrong but "foreigner" is an idea, a label..a way of creating division..in the world of the human spirit, are we not one? Identifying with a physical place, yes, I may be a foreigner..I east, you south, that way..but when we connect in meditation and prayer, in a silence that seeks union with Ultimate Truth, with being..we are all as close as the next breath. One.

  • @MrOhjok ......very well said my friend, I can't agree with you more........greatly appreciate your comment ~

  • Thank you @SpayRescueNeuter and @kingantique my friends for dropping by, appreciate it ~
