REPORTER: Fred Thompson was talking last night about the soul of the Republican Party . . . what happened to the soul of the Republican Party [inaudible]?

MIKE HUCKABEE: I think the soul is once again recaptured as the soul of America. Our party ought to be the party of everybody. It ought to be an inclusive party where people feel, whether they are at the top or at the bottom or somewhere in the middle that they have a home in the Republican Party. Its real interesting to hear Fred Thompson talk about Ronald Reagan last night because Fred Thompson supported Gerald Ford in 1976 and not Ronald Reagan, he supported Howard Baker in 1980 and not Ronald Reagan. I appreciate his recent conversion but some of us worked for Ronald Reagan back in the early days. Our legacy goes back a little further.
