To all those who don't like the idea of living forever and want to die I say: ok, no problem, just don't condemn everybody else to die if we can find a way to avoid that.

I think the main reason that some people want to die is because they think they'd be bored because there'd be nothing new to do. -Wait a minute! Nothing NEW? There will be always something new! Anyone else here watched Star Trek?

Aubrey de Grey is a human who will save millions of lifes from certain biological death.

His efforts are far more worth than that of any Nobel Peace Price winner, because the only thing that would make life worth living is if it can be lived forever and not just a short century.

Are people aging slower these days? Most people are living longer than our ancestors, but I know medical science plays a big part in that, but there's only so much medical science can do. Are people these days aging more slowly? I've noticed that these days people that are 40+ look 10 to 15 years younger at their ages than people did a couple of decades back. Are we aging slower? If Aubrey can reverse aging, if it is available, won't it just be available to the rich and powerful?

After this first treatment has been administered, and the results are as he believes they will be, funding will not be a problem, the trick is getting the funding now. After he actually has hard data and real testimonials from people, it would be a cinch to convince those with real money, power, and influence to give to this cause as those are the very types of people who tend to fear death the most.

"Why do i tend to be described in the media as the prophet of immortality?"

Well obviously it's because of the beard!

No, immortality is not akin to being a god. God's need to have tremendous power, while being immortal just means you can't die. But, yes you're right, What abern is talking about is not complete immortality.

My point still stand though. HAving a large or infinite quantity of something does not diminish its value.
