is this like a 1/8th mile drag race?
-
quietly and politely winning
-
And some argue that we don't have the technology to run our nation on green energy.

The lotus also beat the porsche and that is definitely not designed for straight line speed. Electric motors have consistent delivery of power and have more torque than internal combustion so this doesn't surprise me.
-
listen to all the excuses, give the little electric car some credit here. whats next? someone going to say it was cheating? I know, the sun was in all the other drivers eyes, thats it.

this clip is pointless, the Carrera GT is a true sportscar, its not build for a short straight drag race, thats the only way the Tesla Roadster can win, on a longer straight line the carrera GT would easily pull away and on a real race track the other cars would drive cyrcles around the tesla which is limited to 125mph

They should run these cars with they MYT engine powering the electric motor. A 17 pound diesel engine getting 100+ mpg running an electric motor. It would be a fast freight train without the 1000 pounds of batteries.

@LonerMuhd Porsche's aren't meant for going in a straight line.
-
@LonerMuhd if that was the longest straight on the track and the porsche used the same tires and they all raced as is.. I think the Telsa would win against everyone

@therotaryrocket An electric motor can last way longer than combustion engines. The PRR GG-1 locomotives run daily on the East Coast from the late 30s to early 80s, in their original motors.
lol at the loss of traction on the carrera GT through the first two gears and the race getting over when it finally shot off.

@toleratetruth top gears response to the whole fiasco is actually pretty pathetic, but whatever
