Death Penalty Controversy Lives On

A new documentary "At the Death House Door" and a Virginia execution of convicted killer Kevin Green has once again stirred the controversy over capital punishment. New questions have been raised in recent years over the U.S. death penalty, as some officials say minorities and the poor are disproportionately put to death. In other cases, DNA tests resulted in the release of a few inmates who were schedule to die.
VOA's Penelope Poulou has the story.

an eye for an eye will make everyone blind the Death Penalty is wrong & before any pro death penalty persons start saying "if it was a member of your family etc" dont bother because I Have had not a family member but a good friend stabbed to death at only 28 & I would not want the killer executed. its not a fair system, apart from mistakes that can & do happen,the DP is racist , sexist & a lottery depending on who you are & what state your in or what Judge/jury you have,the whole system is wrong

YEAH SURE IF SOMEONE MURDERS OR RAPES A MEMBER OF MY FAMILY AND I GET TO HIM BEFORE THE POLICE DO, NO DOUBT HES DEAD ON SITE..BUT THAT STILL DOES NOT MAKE IT RIGHT AT ALL. ITS LIKE THE JUSTICE SYSTEM IS ACTUALLY SAYING "YOU CANT KILL, BUT WE CAN!" SO MY QUESTION IS WHEN THEY EXECUTE A PERSON...WHAT DOES THAT REALLY ACCOMPLISH? WHAT DOES IT FIX? NOTHING!!!

It wouldnt be hard for me to tell the meanest person its there time to go! if

they harmed or killed any of my family members.When are we going to stop pitying the murders and forgetting the victims? I believe death is just to anyone who takes it

apond them selves to kill another person. period.

@nintwiggy6491 Yes it is, some people just can't change, if you working in at a store and a man came in with a knife wouldnt you be scared, if they someone got arrested and put in jail for 20 years they'll just come out angry, thats all. These people are really dangerous.

1 innocent person executed, is 1 too many. What if you were one of them "rare cases" that was on death row?

Murder is wrong no matter how you look at it. Executions are just state sanctioned murder. It is basically making two wrongs a right.
