Moanin' is a jazz classic written by Bobby Timmons and popularized by Joe Zawinul, Nat and Cannonball Adderley and hundreds of other jazz artists and groups. Jim plays a spontaneous "head arrangement" of this wonderful call and response blues and gospel tune. This was recorded July 18,2007 at the New Orleans National Jazz Historic Park which was founded in 1994 to feature and honor America's own original music, JAZZ.

  • Excellent!

  • Good idea except for the flow of traffic that never ceases during the concerts. I always worry the camera will get knocked over by well meaning audience members.

By the way the piano is a Pramberger, rumored to by manufactured in either the Balkan states or Korea.HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

  • Sounds like you could use a tripod!

  • It is the Martha half of Jim and Martha that does the filming. I have yet to figure out how to film what we do together. Guess you will just have to come to NewOrleans to see it for yourself!

  • Hey, thanx for taking your camera with you, so all can see what we are missing...sigh...what alot of music going on in other parts of the country!

  • It is not a great piano. It has problems with repeating action and the pedals jam. The US gov't got it at a discount. I will contact you with the brand name after I do the upcoming concert this Weds. Thanks for listening!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for recording this one! It's fantastic! Do you know what brand of piano this is?
