She was a definite influential trendsetter. Lots of good work, but "Easter" is easily my favorite album by her - and also by this band configuration, "The Patti Smith Group." I feel that - from beginning to end - "Easter" is a masterpiece. I love the rawness and improvisation in the live performances, too. I believe that I had already mentioned somewhere else among these videos, how she was known for that. People looked forward to it, like "I wonder what she'll do tonight...?" LOL

F*7*ing greatt!! I actually saw this simulcast concert in Germany in 1979!! I was an American G.I stationed there at the time. Mitch Ryder, Joan Armatrading, Ian Hunter and ZZ Top were also some of the bands that played that night!! Boy, was I glad I dropped acid for it!!! Thank you, youtube for the flash back!!
