  • sorry, forgot - um... i don't think she was in the states bc she was looking for me; i had a flash of hope when i first heard. but the dongsamuso (??) said she got remarried and went to the states. it is really crazy that she's in the states; i often wonder if we've passed somewhere randomly. THAT would be crazy!~ *^^*

  • thanks... i will be hearing from them tomorrow (or i'll call them and bug em), so i am HOPING for somem good! that is TOTALLY crazy, but also shows the power of the media in Korea! i hope all works out with your search as well. strange, huh, how peoples' lives intersect. right now i'm really apathetic about things, i think mostly bc i want to find my mother, and waiting for the frickin embassy to type in her id and tell me what they've got. 2 weeks and counting. grrr ;)

  • WOW! That's amazing!! Good luck to you. p.s. it was confired that the lady calling in was my Aunt! Crazy! was on the KBS (again)webshow to meet her LIVE : ) and also..the other two ladies found their family as well. It's all been such a great help in our search. I really hope the best for you in your search...do you think that your birth mother is in the states because she was looking for you? How amazing that is...she's so close!! GOOD LUCK!! Keep me posted.

  • hi lmccarthy3345! CONGRATULATIONS! I hope it was successful for you! That is so amazing. I got my mother's elusive national ID#, and she is in the states somewhere! so am waiting to get some information fr the Korean Consulate in ATL. She was issued a passport in 1997 supposedly, so hoping i'll be able to find SOMEthing; otherwise i'll probably have to hire a PI.

  • Hi cts1386...I was on the show as well. We are all still waiting for more info. They are investigating the calls that came in during the show. As for the two other ladies, it was supposedly someone that was a neighbor and as for me it was an aunt. We are all still waiting to hear further news.

  • the program has come along way since I was on in back in 2000, way more organized and visibility!!

still amazed, angered, overwhelmed how were so normalized in society! isn't this enough for more native koreans, government, internat'l community to work to eradicate conditons for overseas adoption! Far to many of us all over the world!!!!

How to work within the constructs of patriarchy and Confucianism?

  • so at the end they mentioned something to the two girls - did they find their mother??
