Monday Night Radio
Greytowne Owls new album Monday Night Radio rips out the speakers like a freight train running on the fuel of the americana roots rock movement. Working somewhere between the folk rock style of the 60's and early 70's classic rock, the Greytowne Owls offer up hard won street wisdom with a danceable mix of rollicking tunes. Full bodied with both twang and punch, this 6 piece band delivers a fresh new sound to the Central Pennsylvania roots rock circuit with it's timeless yet proven music method.
Nashville born songwriter Steven Courtney fronts the band. Courtney is no stranger to the Central Pennsylvania music scene. He, along with his band-mates have been performing throughout the area professionally since 1991. His diverse song-writing abilities have landed him airplay in multiple formats including NPR, rock and gospel stations. Courtney is also renowned for his work as an award winning song-writer in family entertainment and educational music.
Fans of Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, The Band as well as contemporary rockers like Wilco, Son Volt and other americana rock bands will love this bands vibe and overall approach to rock and roll. Upbeat , yet not naive, the band churns out powerful originals and reworks cover songs to deliver a diverse mix of attitude and humor both live and on record.
