I remember this launch, this was my FIRST ever launch I ever witnessed on television, and I was instantly hooked onto the shuttle. Because of this, Discovery is my favorite bird, I'm glad NASA is donating her to the Smithsonian. Just to be clear, there is only 1 Smithsonian-in DC right?

i was there in person, what a beautiful site...unfortunately the video doesnt do it justice either to the sound and feel or just how it lit up the entire area and did indeed turn night to day. you really must witness one in person.
