  • Unions are all that a worker has to protect herself and her family. Not everyone can work three jobs, make ten and save twenty, take a bath in the kids' bathwater, etc. A union is not only the porkchoppers at the top but what members make of it. In this video, from Pentonville in 1972 I believe, the union leaders were forced into mass action by the willingness of workers across the countro fight for five shop stewards arrested for comtempt of court.

  • This is for all the good people who will be out on strike next Wednesday. And all those people who don't like people power, remember governments are not always right then the people have to have their say. Listen to the words in this song of the late Matt McGinn.

  • @Lanarkshirelassie The unions are the members. get involved, go to meetings, get elected to a union post!

They're all we have. To the politicians, we don't exist.

  • @IanInVancouver Aye!

  • @keg64 Conditions need to get a bit worse first, we haven't lost quite enough of what we had to win last century just yet, but the sleeping giant's been showing signs of waking up lately.
