Sima LED video light: SL-20LXi on a Kodak Zi8 Camera

I bought an LED light to use on the go in close range low lighting situations. Let's see how it works. The model is SL-20LXi. This is the international Dual-Powered version. It works on the internal battery as well as the AC power. The non-international version does not work on AC power. I am using this to test my Kodak Zi8 camera in low light situations.

@SimonKlovning I do not know about power in other countries. You can try to go to sima's website to get information from them. Look up the light in google and find specifications.

@xSubsistancex A few comments down, we mention that it comes with a mount and you see it at the end of the video. I also have another mount that can attach 3 other standard shoe size devices.

hey do you know if the sima sl-20 infra red night vision light will work with the zi8? what i mean is does the zi8 pick up infra red light ?

@xSubsistancex I doubt it would work, because the camera CCD is not equipped to detect infrared.

kodak z18 you can get a remote too 10 bucks but you have to point it right at the camera for it to work

i have a kodak z18 and like it very well good and cheep camera the sima charges for 3 hours and last only 45 mins if u r lucky

Very good light! But is not IR light right?

I mean... If i use a night vision cam i will see the light right? Theres another sima that is IR that the light can be seen only in night vision cameras... Right???
