  • I swear, everyone who dislikes Wynton Marsalis and his playing come with that same damn "no soul in his music, narrow-minded, and he needs to stick with classical" speech. He has done a lot for children who don't have the means or opportunity to follow the arts and have made ways for kids to learn music. That alone means a lot, not to mention the fact that WM is just a straight badass, on the stage and off. He speaks his mind and backs it up.

  • A+ Wynton for keeping this music alive !

  • Drummer rips five lefts @ 1:53 = tasty!

  • @ZaneCase84 Indeed he is! I feel every middle school music class in America should begin with watching him and his friend speaking about improvising while playing music (jazz), In this case they use Happy Birthday as their Demo! Such a perfect tune to teach such a hard concept in music!

  • Wow! I never heard of people hating or speaking bad of Wynton! I am sure there are a few, but surprised if it is more! What a Great Guy and a Great Musician! He carries a ton of knowledge and history with him!!!

  • Anyone hating on Wynton is just that! A HATER!!!!

  • How can they say unemotional, isnt he baring it all in this solo, and this isnt the only one he does that in. UNdoubtedly the most sought after and recognized jazz musician of the last 25 years.

  • @Campestral - Your post confuses me. I missed no point, I said nothing untrue, & I don't think you'd disagree with my post if you re-read it. Either way, I'm not into YouTube debates, so enjoy the music, whatever makes you happy.

  • @MCBrianOnline you're missing the point, great musicians should touch everyone not just the jazz fans that is why hendrix is acknowledged as a friend because he soaks up everything our best thoughts think of and relays them back to us , most other musicians just get caught up in their own histrorical fantasy where we're waving bye bye :|

  • pretty cool

  • Wynton is a true hero for a (relatively)younger generation of Jazz enthusiasts.

  • 13 people play a woodwind instrument. how could you dislike this?
