Bosnia & Herzegovina - Beauty & War

This is a video showing the many faces of Bosnia & Herzegovina through images.

First, it shows the beautiful scenery, nature and ancient architecture of Bosnia & Herzergovina as a prelude to understanding what a beautiful country and what a cultural hub this is, in the middle of Europe.

Next the video gives us a glimpse of the true heroes of the 1992-1995 War in Bosnia & Herzegovina. The people that gave leadership and sacrificed their lives for the unity of the nation and the survival of the Bosniak people in the face of mass exterminations by the Serbian aggressor.

Finally, the video shows us saddening and disturbing imagery of the victims of the War - the hundreds and thousands of Bosniak men, women and children who were slaughtered mercilessly at the hands of Serbian soldiers in their quest for an ethnically and religiously pure Greater Serbian superstate; which meant the eradication the Bosniak people and Islam in the Balkans as a whole.

what trigger the war exactly? is it becos of religion or ethnicity?

It was neither, but both at the same time. It's really a complicated lead-up of events that triggered it, but it was driven by an age-old Serbian hate of Muslims in the the region. Essentially, it wasn't BECAUSE OF religion (ie, it wasn't war in the Name of God or a crusade) but people were killed on the basis of their religion and their ethnicity (which are one and the same in Bosnia).

They weren't killed on the basis of their religion at the onset of the war. During WWII the Croatian Muslims fought side by side Croatian army against partisans -(communism) same as they did in 1995 religion was not a problem nor an issue until Serbia Muslims created an atmospher for war between Croatians and the Muslims where by Muslims took up arms against Croatia in 1995. that should have never happened. Croatian nation encompases all religions.

Freedom from communist opression which stareted back in 1945. Religion only came into play later on when Izetbegovic wanted to Create a Muslim state under false pretens that Mislim is a religion not a nationality.
