An experiment with recording the Yamaha Silent guitar plugged directly into the computer. I have no monitoring, so I am playing on the 'silent' sound of the strings only.. :) the music I play is 'Lagrima' by Francisco de Asís Tárrega y Eixea (21 November 1852 -- 15 December 1909)

  • does it work to plug it directly to computer speakers?

  • @advertclerk yes - but of course the sound quality depends on how good the speakers are

some (small) computer speakers cannot handle the wide dynamics of a real musical instrument so you may get a fair amount of distortion. You will also find it usefull to experiment with the volume settings on the guitar and the speakers - I suggest setting the speakers to highest level and gradually turn op the volume on the Yamaha.

  • Sir, how did you connect it to the computer.Did you use a software to record it.I just bought an SLN 110 and i was thinking of recording using the computer.Appreciate an answer.thanks

  • @dongirijan Sorry it took me a while to write an answer: I used Wavelab as recording software, but essentially I could have used any audio recording program. 'Audacity' is a very good and freeware. I used a mini stero jack from the headphone output and plugged it directly in the computer. Simple as that.

  • wonderful!

may i ask which tuning you are using? it looks standard to me! correct me if i'm wrong!

    greetz

  • @schpeidermann Hi there. You are absolutely right. It is standard tuning.

  • @nielscmusik thanks. btw, does it work to plug any computer headset to an electric guitar? and hear it good?

  • Thank you for the info.Appreciate it .Goodluck with your playing.

  • @dongirijan if you have an iPad you can plug directly into it and record using the Apogee JAM Guitar Interface. It is amazing and you can record and mix professionally on your iPad. In effect you can turn you iPad into a professional recording studio.

  • beautiful playing--bravo! nylon strings sure allow pretty sounds to be made
