  • Are the rocks done with parallax mapping?

  • @Dilophodd No, they are actual wireframe meshes with just normal maps.

Parallax Mapping certainly looks interesting. Worth passing on I think.

  • uh, noob question but how do you go into 3rd person? Amazing map btw

  • @koloy999 Open the console by pressing " ` " (left of "1/!") or the " ~ " then type in thirdperson

  • Your map looks beautiful, but what concerns me with this and other maps that i've peeked at the forums is the lack of luminosity. If NS2 is anything like NS1 when it comes to certain game mechanics then such darkness is a no go. It simply gives way too big of an advantage to even just mediocre skilled players. Instead of having so little lighting I suggest creating ambush spots for skulks with intelligently placed crates/boxes, crevices, overhangs and such. Check next post for more...

  • @Vaijykone Dont worry, it aint that dark in game, the video came out like that :/

Have a look at my second video that shows one of the much brighter areas of the map, its going to be 50/50 in regaurds to lightness and darkness.

  • Looks good!

  • definetly a awesome map! i will get this one after release :)

  • Loving your map man, keep up the excellent mapping and modding! Hope to see your map as an official NS2 map which you'd most likely be happy about lol.

  • wow, some ingenious level design Sgt. You should be proud of your baby thus far, some serious hours invested there. Can't wait to tear it up in those caverns. Keep up the hard work soldier, it's paying off. =)

  • Pretty nice looking - though there was something that caught me attention, and that was the rather static looking character model, namely the sliding feet when turning/aimming.

Granted, this is still in development - but just wondering if that'll be dealt with.
