World Record Coin Snatch Attempt by Mike Turber Interrupted by 7.2 EARTHQUAKE is featured on CNN!

On his 3rd attempt at breaking his own world record for catching quarters off his elbow, CNN iReporter Mike Turber along with his girlfriend Stephanie Bailey and four legged friend Reno found themselves in the middle of a huge earthquake. Confident he could beat his old world record, which you can see at www.youtube.com/miketurber, Turber, who began doing this bar challenge when he was 12, did not even know he held the world record for catching quarters of his elbow until he was already in his 40s when he finally researched the subject. He knew that this was somewhat of a talent for him that he would use to win free beer at local pubs but he never thought that he was the best in the world. One day while researching the records for catching quarters online he stumbled across several videos on YouTube and noticed the highest number caught was around 30 or so. Mike practices with 35 to 40! So he digs out the video camera and records himself for nearly 10 hours attempting to establish not only the record but also a set of guidelines for the record as there seems to be no set rules other than for Europe. His record attempt also caught the eye of MTV producers who are said to have challenged their own DJs to beat it and even included special guest DJ Tiesto. Mike says he will post video of this event as soon as he gets his copy. He obviously caught the eye of CNN producers who featured his video as the iReport of the day on Robin Meades Morning Express. Later that same day Jeane Moos created a montage of her favorite videos and voted Mikes the MOOS WEIRD during her Quake Quirks medley of odd videos sent in from those who experience the quake. It seems that sloshing pool water, convenience store surveillance video and swinging chandeliers was the order of the day and Mikes fresh video separated him from the rest of the pack earning him the honors. Later that day Mike attempted to break the world record again and according to him he not only broke the record, he demolished it.
