2 miles under 10 Mins!? Thats Anazing! Im 13 in 8th grade i weigh around 200 last time i checked but i checked like 2 months ago and ive been doing alot of excercising and sports like Track and football comin up, i am 5 feet tall 11 inches. And i run on the same speed as some pretty athletic friends of mine. My track coach is considering picking me for the 2 mile. Any tips?

What pace does the team run their 3 mile warm up, cool down, and the 1/2 mile recovery?

@myeyeswontdry2 3 mile warm-up is usually done at about 7:00/mile. Sometimes it starts of slower at 7:30/mile and speeds up to 6:30/mile. The 1/2 mile recovery is usually at about 7:00-8:00/mile (3:30-4:00 minutes)

@Vo2maxProductions : Since you're talking about pace, what's your speed during long runs (18-20 miles)? 7-8/mile?

@ninjaguy123 depends on how hard we want to go. a lot of times for a 20 miler we start right at 6:30-7:00 per mile and then work it down. Sometimes we have a stretch of 3 miles or so near the end where we go sub 5min pace (very hard for me when tired)... a lot of times we average about 5:45/mile mostly.
