I am from Rome, and that guys is from the Bari area, but I was able to pick up roughly 3 to 5 percent what he said. the man is not speaking italian but the bari's dialect.If he spoke italian, and he can, his accent would be very strong can and very different from any other region in Italy.I do have a roman accent tht transfered into my english.
