Bertie our 1yr old brown Donkey has been learning to lie down on cue.

Bertie used to often go to a certain spot (nice and dusty) and roll, so i worked on capturing this behaviour so that i could train him to lie down on request. As soon as i saw him do it I would dash over and give him plenty of rewards for going down and staying down.

Very soon i found i could take him to the spot and start pawing at the ground which then encouraged Bertie to copy and then 'get down'!

I still have to fine tune this behaviour and work on him offering me this behaviour where ever i ask him to do it. so still a work in progress, but he is doing so well with it and LOVES his cuddles:)) so do I.. lol!

Bertie is trained with positive re enforcement, predominatly using the mark and reward method of CLICKER TRANING.

All work in the field is done AT LIBERTY , always the animals choice wether it stays or goes...as you can see they like to stay...
