I WENT TO THIS EVENT THINKING IT WOULD BE GOOD FOR A LAUGH,,BUT FOUND MY SELF AT A FEARSE TRIBLE COMPETITION !!! MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS THEY ARE FIGHTING FOR THE RIGHTS TO THE CITY OF STPETERSBURG !! IF I WAS COMING TO THIS BY A TIME MACHINE,,I MIGHT HAVE THOUGHT IT WAS A TRIBAL DISPUTE ,,AND I WOULD HAVE TOLD THEM TO STOP BEFORE SOME ONE WAS KILLED IN BATTLE.
The City of St. Pete Parks Department and TASCO (Teen, Arts, Sports, and Cultural Opportunities) are once again partnering with Tampa Bay Club Sport to bring back the wildly popular Extreme Mud Wars (EMW) to Spa Beach Park. Last year, more than 400 people competed against each other in series of events that are just as enjoyable to watch as they are to participate in. EMW, hosted at Spa Beach park at the base of the Pier in downtown St. Pete, boasts 8 mud covered events that teams rotate through to determine who the best of the best is. The event takes approximately 1 1/2 grueling weeks of set up. A minimum of 5,000 sandbags, 10 8-ton dump trunks of soil, 8 fire hoses, 30 concrete road barriers, bike racks, tents and trailers are brought in to make this event happen. Companies, friends, and groups can get their teams dirty in this all-day event. Whether you might be in it to become a champion or the filthiest of the filthy, this is the prime opportunity for teams of friends or co-workers to participate in the all day mud event,
