Holy is the Lord, God Almighty

Please do define ethical without a source of absolute truth and ethics... What was ethical for one man isn't for another. Some see it ethical to kill unborn babies for no other reason than the annoyance it would cause the parents who just wanted a bit of fun, others would see this as unethical.

Social ties is stupid - many nazi's had social ties to Hitler and it sent them the other way to ethical - although they saw what they were doing as ethical and for the good of mankind.

Religion is merely man's rules on how a person is to commune with God, an unnecessary club. Mankind IS poor, even wretched & miserable. Open a paper or watch TV if you doubt the truth of my statement. Hell, total separation from God, is our just consequence for our disobedience to a holy God. If we do not repent & refuse to accept God's provision, His atonement for our sins, the death & shed blood of Jesus, we will die in our sins. His blood brings eternal life if we will only trust in Jesus.

"No religious basis is necessary", but a "Life basis" is necessary, and upon this should ethical behavior be based. Sympathy, education and social ties, though very important, are not enough. John14:6. The last part of Einstein's quotation presupposes that there is no life after. This is very far from the truth. On the other hand, human restrain, be it for fear of punishment or hope of reward after death, is good. Without it, the world would be in a state of anarchy. The great man missed it here
