lol it's so weird listening to the original version of a cover for the first time, like if you've listened to the cover version over and over again and have a deep emotional attachment to it. It doesn't matter how genius or revolutionary the original is, it's hard to listen to without feeling like it's just completely wrong. That being said, I think I could grow to love this song....

This Bowie vs. Kurt Cobain bullshit is absurd. I love that Nirvana made this their own & I love that David Bowie made it period. It's not like enjoying one song or the other is mutually exclusive; Jesus, people, try, TRY for a tiny bit of perspective. Two great versions of a great song by two very different artists. However, the burden of attention & respect should be applied to them for their similarities: two incredible musicians, consummate artists & entertainers who created astounding music.
