Here's the deal people: Was it the best? No, of course not. Did you enjoy it? Probably. Now why not stop focusing on how you think they were just "so terrible" and take the song for what it is: An amazing excerpt from an amazing musical. All they were doing was singing their hearts out for their audience and if that deserves the criticism you guys are putting on them then I don't know what I saw in musical theatre.

Boy this was a sad event. This song relies almost exclusively on its tight harmonies and if you cant nail them, it becomes a blanket of dissonance and the power of the song just unravels. Joey Fatone seems like a nice guy with some singing talent but he is seemingly way over his head here. Or, perhaps, he just had a bad night. It happens to everyone. That said, I love this musical like few others. Rent is the most powerful piece of musical theatre that Ive ever seen.

it was good in the beginning until joey and manley started harmonizing. joey couldn't hold those harmonies, cuz manley definately got them
