hazmat stage away evacuate the area of civilians, full ppe envelope on air. establish a decon area and have unmanned hoseline in place using foam, water on a chem fire is a bad idea keep apparatus out of the danger zone surround and drown scenerio, and accountability make sure everyone gets home safe thats the most important thing on any call.

Typical Haz-Mat situation. Anyone at the fire 1 level should know this. Dangerous Goods. People standing by taking video, are stupid, these chemicals have many known and unknown carcinogens within them

I am not there and I am not a chemist, just a firefighter but it's never good when this stuff burn. It's plenty of mix products...
I stopped believing in medias a while ago. It's better to be careful. With chemichal stuff, the effects arrive years and years after.
Is it still burning over there ?

People have to leave around the plant as fast as they can, this is damn dangerous for health. I work in a swiss chemical site as fire fighter and we have the same product around I guess.

Those clouds of smoke look terribly toxic. And this is blowing over a 4 county area, including my home. Yea gads and all my windows are open too. I just live 10 miles north of here.
