@chaiter1 I agree. My channel goal is to create a museum of the best of a century of music. 800 playlists cover 500 artists, 100 genres & almost every year back to 1870. It's a musical time machine. chuck

Clara Rockmore performed Rachmaninoff's "Vocalise" in a fine documentary on the Theramin, which I think was simply called "Theramin". The brief scene of her doing that piece was from the 1920s, shortly after Russian inventor Leo Theramin invented during the innovative early Soviet era (before Stalin imposed Soviet Realism and snuffed out any tendencies toward avante gardism in the arts).

I dunno who may say that a theremin is not an instrument! And if it has midi, this gem can play almost anything as any midi controller, but with the highest sensitivity you may never find nowhere else, so it has no other instrument in comparison. It's like playing pure analogic, with far more control than the midi-wind WMX5 or the midi-violin from yamaha...

@PassionateViolinist I'd say the cello is very, very close.

@PicklesReallySuck That's the point of a theremin, asshole
The theremin in my opinion is the closest instrument to the human voice aside from the violin

Technically, by definition a Theremin IS an instrument.
