  • In This Clip, From 0:32 To 1:13, It Was BBC-TV's BBC News' The 9 O'Clock News Video Ope From Thursday Night, May 27, 1976.

  • SeventiesMania gives the correct year; this is from Thursday 27th May 1976, presumably caught on a recording of one of the unexpected BBC1 8.30 pm repeats of the last Monty Python series.

The Callaghan govt won that vote on shipbuilding nationalisation by a majority of one, and such was the response the Commons had to be suspended - one of many reasons why it would have been so much better for British socialism, or at least for social democracy, had Labour not "won" in 1974.

  • Thats Kay Alexanda; shes still announcing today

  • This must be 1976 not 78 : Colonel 'Callan' was excuted in July 76, and the Attorney General's guidelines of identification were a reaction to the Peter Hain case of that year.

  • The midlands announcer sounds really bored, like she's about to fall asleep!
