SeventiesMania gives the correct year; this is from Thursday 27th May 1976, presumably caught on a recording of one of the unexpected BBC1 8.30 pm repeats of the last Monty Python series.
The Callaghan govt won that vote on shipbuilding nationalisation by a majority of one, and such was the response the Commons had to be suspended - one of many reasons why it would have been so much better for British socialism, or at least for social democracy, had Labour not "won" in 1974.
This must be 1976 not 78 : Colonel 'Callan' was excuted in July 76, and the Attorney General's guidelines of identification were a reaction to the Peter Hain case of that year.
