  • Hey Jim. Since the taping error means we couldn't see how you highlighted and lowlighted the clouds, could you give a written description her?

    I realise you will have used raw sienna and cad red because you laid it out in your pallet, but just a general verbal explanation would help a novice like me. Thanks.

  • Hey Claire what you want to do is use a mix of Ultr blue, Burnt Sienna and Alizarin crimson for the shadowed underbelly side of the clouds. then mix sme Raw sienna and a tiny bit of the Cad red for the highlighted parts. Make sure your first layer is totally dry then start modeling the shadow and highlighted areas of each shape with the 2 mixtures. Dont get the paint on to heavy and scumble as go. If you dont like the way it looks you can completely wipe it off with thinner and try again.

    The modelling you achieved with the transparent first color was terrific even without the shadows added later.
