FSX meets HD 5870 in Manhattan X Part II

Sorry for the crappy quality, it was made with my cell phone. Better quality videos are coming...

The purpose of this video is only to show you the performance of an HD 5870 combined with the i7 950@4500 MHz. I get about 10-15 FPS more than with my GTX285, but not with same image quality because if I enable AA Super sampling the FPS drop is to high.

The image quality with the catalyst settings I made is good in my opinion. For me smoothness is more important then an superb image quality and with the 5870 FSX runs very smooth, even with REX water and clouds plus stormy weather!

This is only true if it comes to AA. With super sampling ATI's IQ is equal to Nvidia but this costs some smoothness.

did you use just catalyst or ati tray tools ?

Have not tried ati tray tools yet, so I only use the Catalyst Control Center CCC

@Gamerrockz Lol you have no idea what you are talking about, typical Nvidia user sucked into their billion dollar marketing campaign to believe they are a superior product. Which card is better : 6870 or 5870. Does somebody knows the equivalent of the the 6870 in nvidia graphic card?. By the way Nice video but you should try to find a better recorder.

I recently upgraded my computer to Win7, 64bit, XFX ATI 5870, 12gb DDR3 1600mhz ram, and i7 960 proccessor, and.. i get BAD FPS in freshly installed FSX, around 15-20 FPS at YSSY (Kingsford Smith Int, Sydney AUS)

There has to be somthing amis, did u update the drivers?
