Bharat Katha - Rumy Shroff, An Architect from Bombay

I met Rumy Shroff randomly in a Parsi locality in old Mumbai (Bombay). He was walking his dog and stopped to enquire what I was doing as I was taking picture of an old building. He wondered if I was interested in architecture as he is an architect by profession. I then told him about what I was doing and asked him if he would be interested in participating in my project; he immediately agreed and invited me to his nearby home.

Parsis descend from a group of "Zoroastrians of Iran" who immigrated to India during 10th century AD, since then Parsis are integral part of Indian society and are active participants in every branch of the society. In this first part of the episode, Rumy initiates the conversation by talking about his understanding of Parsis, his childhood ambition, his life in USA, the Vietnam war, the real reason he decide to come back from US, and his views on marriage and his children.
