NOW THIS IS WHAT ORION VII NEEDS TO SOUND LIKE. This is my favorite Orion V with this particular Engine sound, It reminds me of my hometown which where I grew up on their Ex- 1991 Orion Vs.
R.I.P. 600s/ all 1991 Orion Vs

Didn't the 1997-98 CNG Orion V's take over for the 1981 Grumman-Flxible 870s and some of the 1984 Flxible Metros, both of which had 8V71 Detroit Diesel engines?

@ENTERTAINMENT35 these are in canada
-
@qwandiddy they using these in canada now
-
the remainder of my city's Orion V fleet retired over the summer, only one had the HTB-748 transmission :(
-
Bc transit had there last days with these Orion 5 Buses 600-610, sad to see that they are retired and scrapped.
-
Is this a Detriot Diesel?
I'm from New Orleans and our transit company called RTA(Regional Transit Authority) used to have these models until 2005 when Katrina struck. You can still see these models but not the ones from the early 90's but from the mid 90', just not like you did like talkin' about it because the new generations are almost taking over this city.
Sad.

@ENTERTAINMENT35 Yeah I know, Its so sad that Orion V got out of business almost 2 years ago otherwise LIB, Suffolk would've ordered more Orion Vs instead.
-
@ENTERTAINMENT35 I think New Orleans RTA still got at least some of their 1991 Orion Vs as well with 1997-98s of same model. I grew up with my 1991 Orion Vs from Grand Rapids, Michigan (Retired in 2006 for dumb boring Gillig Advantages), they should've gotten the Orion VIIs instead.

My Favorite engine diesel noise on Orion Vs. So sad even Toronto TTC retired their 1991 Vs as well early this year.

@552 omg i luv the way the gears shifit back and fourth
these buses were retired because of the emissions. suffolk transit is getting the new Orion VII low floor buses later this year too to replace the older ones they have. UGH buses arent made like they used to anymore! the glory days are definitely behind us

@ENTERTAINMENT35 Well, I guess that makes perfect sense then.

thought the mta still had these buses in the yard for emergency means when buses replaced trains when trackwork and such was being done etc.? i always used to see a few 600 buses outside train stations for bus service for those who needed to ride the trains

@ENTERTAINMENT35: To the best of my knowledge (cuz I live in Florida now), the MTA Bus Company & MTA New York City Bus sitll have some that run regularly (with the repowered specs), bus LIB got rid of all of theirs.

The transmission, an Allison model, is really the HTB-748 and not the HT-747.
