Lesley is one of the nicest people!

i will actually state i think maybe the sound what the girls could hear was crap, as the backing vocals in the second verse are way too loud so i put it down too very poor techs on the tv doing the sound, if anything..
-
yes backing was normally recorded too and this was live lead and backing so you can hearthe backing vocals better than the record clear at least and sarah jane fluffling the opening line bless her,, in love with lesley on bass

Only a few brave bands opted to play totally live and it was their choice to do so. However Musician's Union rules dictated at the time that at least one musician MUST play live on TOTP, usually bands selected the bass player to be in the firing line but obviously the Belle Stars decided to record the backing tracks and overlay live vocals....brave move.
The other backing tracks were usually re-recorded at the BBC sound studios the day before live TV transmission.
