The animation looks extremely repetitive. You can tell they used the same frames over and over again. Looney Tunes certainly raised the bar quite a bit in the '30s, in animation quality, character voicing, sound effects, music, etc....
Most of the first talkies and animations put to music actually reused frames more. This was actually done so the audience understood that the animation was following the music. It is repetitive, but it was ground breaking. Keep in mind the era this came from.

Most of these were done around '29 I believe, but April Maze in particular was done in 1930.
